Cheer was everywhere at the 4th annual Jingle Brawl sponsored by Lacrossewear at North Broward Prep. No doubt the setting feels like a second home to many Florida lacrosse families. To this writer, at this time of the year, the Jingle Brawl embodies the spirit of the game above all.Yes, there were the standard Florida rivalries and disclaimers (“we’re short six midfielders, two dogs and a reindeer”), but the mood was set by good friends swapping pinnies and playing for the other team to make the games more even. Big brothers and sisters were actively shouting support for their younger siblings. The high speed 7 on 7 format offered great practice for goalies and tons of scoring. Everyone came away a better player with all of the touches, and it was easy to see the stars of tomorrow in the making. The winners are listed below, but everyone who participated at this holiday event felt like a winner. The Jingle Brawl is a fitting final chapter to the local travel season.
