
Coral Shores Senior Captain, Morgan Champagne, Chooses Cornell College

Cornell Ram’s head coach Lauren Martin has offered Morgan Champagne an academicscholarship which will allow Morgan to play lacrosse for the Ram’s in their inaugural NCAADivision-3 season in 2015! Cornell College is located in Mount Vernon, Iowa and will completein the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC).Morgan has played lacrosse at Coral Shores since she was a freshman and was one of the onlyplayers to bring prior experience with her to Coral Shores. Morgan played middle schoollacrosse while living in New Hampshire, and was very happy to see lacrosse being played atCoral Shores when she moved to the Florida Keys.Morgan was named US Lacrosse Academic All American in 2013 and was also awardedOutstanding Attacker for 2013 as well with 13 goals and 2 assists on the season. Morgan hasalways been one of the most versatile players being able to play attack, midfield and defense at ahigh level. Morgan is also an officer for the CSHS chapter of the National Honor Society, amember of Key Club, Interact, and a 4-year member of the Swim Team.While at Cornell College, in addition to playing lacrosse, Morgan will be majoring inMicrobiology with hopes of attending medical school and ultimately becoming an Oncologist.“On my visit to Cornell I got a real sense of “family” there… I discovered how much theprofessors and coaches care about their students.
