Eleven Lacrosse Group Runs Boys Prep School Showcase in Boca This Past Weekend

Written by Lee Roggenburg on . Posted in .
As a follow-up to the successful Girls lacrosse showcase of the previous weekend Eleven Lacrosse Group, in conjunction with Prep School Lacrosse, ran the Boys’ version at the Saint Andrew’s School on the weekend of January 16th-17th.Approximately 160 kids attended the Showcase, with about 40% of them from the state of Florida.  This Showcase, like the Girls’ one, was open to the general lacrosse playing public, and helps to serve as an introduction to Prep School Lacrosse’s summer event, which is invitation-only and takes place the weekend after Memorial Day in Connecticut.  That event’s participants are nominated by coaches and is highly prized to be invited to. DSC_1096          DSC_1595 Matt Madalon, Assistant Coach at Princeton noted:“I have always enjoyed working Prep Lax Showcase events.  The format allows for a great group of college coaches to truly teach the game, build individual skills and to help develop a better understanding of concepts.  It’s an excellent teaching atmosphere combined with top talent.” DSC_1748 (1)          DSC_1780 The Boca event was also similar to the previous weekend in the coaching levels available to the participants.  A similar Division 1/3 coaching staff was on hand: Matt Kerwick – Head Coach of CornellMike Murphy – Head Coach of PennLars Tiffany – Head Coach of BrownMatt Madalon – Assistant Coach of PrincetonTucker Kear – Head Coach of SkidmoreGene McCabe – Head Coach of Washington & LeeGeorge McCormack – Head Coach of WilliamsMax Silberlicht – Assistant Coach at BowdoinJohn Giordano – Assistant Coach at HamiltonMike Silipo – Assistant Coach at IthacaGus Brakeley – Assistant Coach at MiddleburyBrian Praetorius – Assistant Coach at TrinityDerek Witheford – Assistant Coach at Union DSC_1138          DSC_1754 DSC_1581          DSC_0942
