via IWLCA press releases 2018 IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll – February 26, 2018 There’s a new number one in the IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll, as Stony Brook University earns its first-ever #1 ranking with 21 first-place votes this week. The Seawolves (3-0) cruised into the top spot after posting a convincing 16-3 win over #21 Denver (3-1) the same weekend that #3 North Carolina (3-1) took down previously top-ranked Maryland in overtime. The Terps (2-1) dropped to the second position in the poll, while Florida (2-1) slipped to fourth after surviving their own overtime battle with #23 Loyola (0-2), and Syracuse (3-0) fell to #5. Boston College (5-0) dropped to the #6 spot, while James Madison claimed the number seven position. Northwestern moved from #15 to #8, Virginia climbed from #16 to #9, and Towson gained a spot to move into the tenth spot.Boston College (#6) and Navy (#11) start off a big week of Top-25 action with a game in Chestnut Hill on Tuesday. The #25 Stanford Cardinal welcome #16 Duke to campus on Friday, while Northwestern (#8) tries to knock of newly-minted #1 Stony Brook in a road test for the Seawolves. Ivy League rivals Cornell (#18) and Penn (#15) also square off on Saturday, along with Florida (#4) and North Carolina (#3), and Penn State (#13) and (#23) Loyola. Top-25 action wraps up on Sunday with #22 Colorado hosting Virginia Tech (#19), and the #5-ranked Syracuse Orange visiting ACC-rival Virginia (#9).    2018 IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll – February 26, 2018 The first regular-season Coaches Poll in Division II finds Florida Southern (2-0) at the top with 23 first place votes after the Mocs took down defending National Champions Adelphi University (1-1) by a score of 17-16 on February 17. Adelphi checks in at number two, followed by 4-0 Lindenwood in third, Le Moyne (1-0) in fourth, and LIU Post (1-0) in the fifth position. Florida Tech has locked down the sixth spot after racing out to a 3-0 start, New Haven and East Stroudsburg are ranked seventh and eighth, while Queens (1-2) and Limestone (2-1) round out the top ten.The biggest mover in the second half of the poll is Indianapolis (3-1), who jumps from #24 into a tie at #15 with West Chester (1-0). Tampa (2-2), who upset Rollins (#14) earlier this month, makes their first appearance in the poll, checking in at #23 this week. There are no Top-25 games scheduled this week.
