IWLCA: Gators Fall to #6 in D1; FSC #1, FIT #5, Rollins #11 and Tampa #18 in D2!

 via IWLCA press releases 2018 IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll – March 12, 2018Stony Brook University (5-0) collected all but one first place vote this week to land on top of the IWLCA Division I Coaches Poll. Maryland (5-1) sits in the second spot, Boston College (9-0), who received one first place vote, claims the third position, North Carolina (4-2) moves up to fourth, and James Madison (7-0) enters the top five for the first time this season. Florida (4-2) falls to the sixth spot after losing to #7 Syracuse (4-2) last week, and the top ten is rounded out by Virginia (5-1), Northwestern (5-2), and Navy (5-1). Virginia Tech (6-3) had the biggest jump of the week, landing at #18 after beating both Denver (now #22) and Notre Dame (now ranked #21) on the road.There are several noteworthy Top-25 games this week, including a Tuesday match-up between #6 Florida and Navy (#10), a Wednesday tilt featuring Loyola (#13) and #8 Virginia, and #15 Colorado at USC (#12). The action continues on Saturday, when Johns Hopkins (#24) faces #2 Maryland, top-ranked Stony Brook takes on #14 Towson, Duke (#20) squares off with #11 Penn, #21 Notre Dame meets Virginia, and #4 North Carolina visits #9 Northwestern.

 2018 IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll – March 12, 2018Florida Southern (8-0) remains in the top spot in the IWLCA Division II Coaches Poll this week, collecting 22 of 25 first place votes. Adelphi (3-1), Lindenwood (7-0), and Le Moyne (4-0) hold their position in the second through fourth spots, while Florida Tech (7-0) breaks into the top five for the first time this season. Limestone (5-1) moves into the #6 slot, New Haven (2-0) holds at #7, and LIU Post (3-2) drops to eighth. Mercy (5-1) and Indianapolis (5-1) round out the top ten.There are several compelling matchups between Top-25 teams this week, including #11 Rollins against Lock Haven (#25), and Queens (#15) versus #13 West Chester on Monday, while #8 LIU Post faces New Haven (#7) and #23 McKendree takes on #5 Florida Tech on Tuesday before the Bearcats tangle with top-ranked Florida Southern a day later. Thursday’s action features #6 Limestone taking on Queens, and McKendree plays its third ranked opponent of the week on Friday, when they square off against #18 Tampa. The highlight of the weekend looks to be the battle between #4 Le Moyne and Stonehill (#24) on Saturday.
